Most visitors arrive on Vancouver Island by car ferry. From Vancouver, ferry trips take about an hour and a half and YES, you can make a reservation!
Depart from either the Tsawwassen Terminal (Vancouver) to Duke Point (Nanaimo); or from Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) to Departure Bay, Nanaimo).
Once on the Island, head north on Highway 19 which takes you directly to Campbell River. From there head west on Hwy 28, which meanders along lake and mountain sides, for about 91 kms (57 miles). This is considered one of the most spectacular drives on Vancouver Island.
Upon arrival in Gold River, keep heading straight following the signs to Tahsis. This is an active logging road and turns to gravel after 5 km. Please keep to your side of the road and drive with your headlights on at all times. If pulling a boat, make sure your brakes are functioning as the road has steep hills at an 18% grade.
Moutcha Bay Resort is located 43 km north of Gold River. When see our sign on the main road turn off to the right and follow the loop around. There is a boat launch and parking are available on site.
